Family Dispute Resolution - new program at Centacare

Centacare offers child focused Family Dispute Resolution for parents/care-providers affected by family separation.

Family Dispute Resolution can help separated parents/care-providers reach agreement around parenting matters outside the court system.

The changing needs of children affected by family separation are the primary focus of dispute resolution at Centacare. We promote healthy family relationships; help prevent/reduce conflict, encourage agreement rather than litigation, and promote the right of all children to have meaningful relationships with both parents/care-providers.

Centacare offers a staged Family Dispute Resolution process that involves:

  • Initial Intake conducted by Reception
  • Formal Intake and Assessment conducted by a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP)
  • Child-Focussed Parent Information session
  • Family Dispute Resolution session/s
  • Child Consultant session (if applicable)
  • Post-Family Dispute Resolution followup

Engaging in Family Dispute Resolution affords opportunity for separated parents/care-providers to minimise conflict and reduce associated risks to children's emotional well-being and mental health.

Centacare offers FDR in face-to-face mode or via teleconference.

The safety and well-being of clients and staff is paramount at all times.  The Practitioner will cease service if either party or practitioner believes there is a safety risk.

Fees apply for each FDR activity and payment plans area available.

To learn more or make an appointment please call (07) 4044 0130 during business hours.
